Diagnostic Criteria for Schizophrenia
If the items A, B, C, and D, below,
all describe your situation, then, alas, you probably have come down
with schizophrenia.
A. You have experienced at least two
of the following symptoms during a one-month period [if you have
bizarre delusions, like those described in this chapter, or a
constant auditory hallucination, then one, not two, symptoms on the
list will suffice]:

-- Disorganized behavior
-- Disorganized speech
-- Lack of emotion expression,
lack of interest in doing things
B. You are no longer able to function
in your usual role as worker, student, homemaker, or family member.
